Builder electrocuted in Kakumiro

Such signs reading KABI DANGER HATARI are pinned on all electric poles in Uganda warning people about the danger of electricity in electrocution.

A 24-year-old builder has been electrocuted in Katikara Sub-county, Kakumiro District.

Emmanuel Ampumuza, a resident of Katikara village was electrocuted yesterday (Thursday), according to his uncle, Mr Darious Byobusingye.

Mr Byobusingye told this website that his nephew met his fateful day after the fresh wooden ladder he was climbing came into contact with live electric wires near a house he was constructing.

Mr Livingstone Tugumisirize, the Katikara village chairman, advised builders to always ensure that power is switched off before they begin doing their work.

Police conducted a forensic examination before handing the body to relatives for burial.
