The Buliisa Resident District Commissioner (RDC),Mr Longino Byagagaire Bahebwa, has barred the public from using school playgrounds to scale down the reported escalating cases of Covid-19 Omicron variant in the district.

The RDC revealed to our stringer in Buliisa that the district had by January 10, 2022, registered 83 mild positive cases of Covid-19.

He says since schools reopened on Monday this week, public use of school playgrounds commonly for football activities is suspended to curb the rate at which coronavirus is spreading in the district.

Mr Bahebwa is optimistic that the measure will relatively prevent the transmission of the virus between the community and learners.
