Bunyoro Premier takes second Covid-19 vaccine jab

The Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, Mr Andrew Kirungi Byakutaaga, has taken the second shot of the Covid-19 vaccine.

This makes about 50% of the kingdom workers who have taken their second dose of the vaccine to guard against coronavirus.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the exercise last (Thursday) evening, Mr Byakutaaga urged the people of Bunyoro to continue observing the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of the deadly pandemic.

“If you get an opportunity to be vaccinated, take in the vaccine. The ministry of health has confirmed that it is safe. I have been vaccinated together with my entire family. Covid-19 is real and killing our dear ones”, said Mr Byakutaaga.

Mr Robert Rukahemura, the Personal Assistant to the Prime Minister is among other kingdom servants who took their second booster.

Bunyoro Kitara Kingodom offices were forced to close at the zenith of the second wave of Covid-19 outbreak in Uganda after a couple of its workers tested positive for coronavirus.

However, no death was reported.
