Four health facilities in Kitoba Sub-county, Hoima District have received a donation of Covid-19 equipment worth Shs3m from Christian East Africa and Equatorial Development (CEED) Trust.
The health centres including Dwoli, Mbaraara, Kyabasengya and Kiseke received 60 litres of sanitizer, 16 boxes of examination gloves, three infrared thermometers, 22 boxes of surgical face masks and 14 face shields.
The equipment was donated to help health care givers to guard against catching Covid-19 in line of duty.
Receiving the items, the Health Inspector in charge of Kitoba sub-county, Mr Michael Wobusobozi, said the donation was timely as there was already lack of the equipment in those health facilities.
Ms Jane Ndagire, a midwife at Kiseke Health Centre 2, said the equipment will help protect them against catching the deadly virus while executing their work.
The Rev Christopher Asiimwe, a board member CEED Foundation of Uganda, implored the beneficiary health workers to use the donation freely to their clients since all costs have already been met.
Rev Asiimwe said the Foundation was committed to improving health in the region through borehole construction for clean water among others.
The Director CEED Foundation of Uganda, Mr Herbert Asiimwe, called for proper use of the items that were handed over at Dwoli Health Centre 3 yesterday (Monday).
