Mr David Obol Otori, has joined Gulu University as the new University secretary after the resignation of Mr Moses Bukenya Seguya, two years ago.

Mr Obol now replaces Mr Asaf Adebua, the Director of Planning at Gulu University who has been in acting position.

Previously, Mr Obol worked with African Humanitarian Action, also served with the Ministry of Health as an administrator at Arua Regional Referral Hospital, Buhinga Regional Referral Hospital in Fort Portal City and Soroti and Mbale Regional Referral Hospitals.

He joined the Uganda Law Reform Commission as Undersecretary in 2011 until last week when the Gulu University Appointments Board and the University Council sealed his move.

Mr James Ojok Onono, the Gulu University Assistant Public Relations Officer said Mr Obol reported on September 1, 2020 adding that the official handover is expected in a week’s time.

“This issue of acting Gulu University has been put to an end because now we have a new University secretary who is expected to start work soon upon performing the official handover. We believe with his huge experience that will be a great boost to the public institution like Gulu University,” Mr Onono said.
