In a bid to improve infrastructure in Kagadi, the district works department has launched the construction of at least 10 roads in this 2020/21 financial year.

The launch on Monday saw the construction of a 15-km Lyanda-Kyaterekera-Wangeyo-Kasojo Road valued at Shs100m.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Stephen Byaruhanga Mfashingabo, the district LC 5 chairman, said that with improved roads in the district, farmers will now ably transport their produce to markets that will consequently relatively improve their livelihoods.
He urged the people of Kagadi to engage in agriculture, have enough food for home consumption and a surplus for the market to better their dietary needs as well as household incomes.
Ms Lillian Ruteraho, the Kagadi Resident District Commissioner, asked the residents to own the roads by avoiding grazing and watering cattle in the roads and on bridges respectively since they end up damaging the infrastructure.

She said that owning the roads will lead to sustainable infrastructure and improved transport for socio-economic transformation in the area.
The district councillor for Kyaterekera sub-county, Mr Alex Turyasingura, said that by embarking on improving the road network is a major milestone that will foster development in the district.
The Kagadi district communications officer, Mr George Gulyetonda, disclosed that roads to be worked on include Mpeefu-Rubirizi- Rugarama, Kyanseke-Kamukole-Nabamunana, Rutete-Kiryarwanda-Nyabwejereka and Igayaza-Kyabasara-Kentomi.
Others are Kyabisulita-Kitemba-Kiryanga, Maberenga-Kaise-Katikengeyo, Kiranzi-Kiryakairu-Kiryanga-Nguse, Kyakabadiima-Hamuji-Burora and Kyabasale-Kyakabadiima Mugalike.
