Kidnapped Kagadi man killed

People gather in the valley where the body of Jacob Tumusiime was found dumped in Kagadi Town Council.

A 22-year-old man who went missing in Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi District on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, has been found killed.

Jacob Tumusiime, a resident of Kamusenene Cell in Kibanga Ward, Kagadi Town Council was kidnapped by a group of thugs when he was returning home from his bar in Kagadi town.

Reports say the thugs demanded a-Shs4m ransom from Tumusiime’s relatives.

However, the relatives failed to raise the money resulting in Tumusiime’s death.

Women who had gone to collect firewood found his lifeless body dumped in a valley of Kibanga Hills in Kagadi town council.

When contacted, the Kagadi District Police Commander (DPC), Mr Stephen Kamar, said eight people have so far been arrested in connection with Tumusiime’s kidnap and murder.

However, the DPC did not reveal the suspects’ identities saying a team of security operatives are still hunting for the fugitives and investigations are still underway.
