Kitara FC on Saturday officially unveiled their official squad ahead of the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season.

The Royals officially put the playing and coaching staff in the eyes of the fans at a function held at Kigaaya COU primary school playground.

During the ceremony, Coach Brian Ssenyondo said unveiling of the squad is an indicator that the Hoima-based club is well organised and ready to compete in Uganda’s top flight football.

He said that Kitara believes that the players will compete ably and at least finish in the top five positions.

Deo Kasozi, the Club President, said the club has signed good players from different top clubs across the country including Denis Omedi, the golden boot winner of last season’s FUFA Big League.

He added that the team is in good condition with good players who they think will manage to bring joy to the fans.

The president, however, called for support towards the construction of the Kitara FC stadium in Butema so that they can be able to use it in the second round of the season.

It should be remembered that Kitara will be hosting their home games at Masindi stadium until FUFA approves the new home for the Royals.

Meanwhile, the Royals played a friendly game as they hosted Wakiso Giants amidst preparations for the forthcoming Uganda Premier League season.

The only goal from George Ssenkaba from the spot kick was enough to secure a win for the hosts.

Kitara will kick off the season on September 15 as it visits SC Villa at Wankulukuku stadium in Kampala.
