Kitara third on the table as they falter on the road

Kitara FC

New Kitara FC head coach, Sam Simbwa, will have to wait a little longer to register his first league victory after his side played to a 1-1 draw with Jinja North United at Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe in Jinja.

This means winless run in the second round played on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

George Senkaaba drew first blood for Kitara FC in the 32nd minute of Erick Muber’s well delivered cross.

Jinja North United FC levelled three minutes to halftime.

The stalemate means Kitara move to the third position, two points behind leaders NEC FC who defeated Ndejje University 1-0 at Bugolobi Coffee grounds.

The Hoima-based Kitara have 34 points same as Police FC who also played out a goalless draw with Kataka FC in Mbale city.

In other games played on Thursday, Masindi’s Booma FC outwitted Luweero United with a 4-2 victory.

Kitara will next play Lugazi FC at Kigaaya Church of Uganda primary school grounds on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

It should be noted that the top three at the end of the season qualify to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

On the other hand, the bottom four get relegated to their respective regional leagues.
