Lango Province was on Sunday, November 20, 2022, held to a 2-2 draw away to Tooro Province with a dramatic last minute equaliser from Allan Okello’s penalty spot at the St Paul National Major Seminary Kinyamasika playground in Fort Portal City in the FUFA Drum semi-finals.
The two sides will again face off in the return leg on December 18, 2022, at Akii-Bua Stadium in Lira City, where the overall winner will face either Acholi or West Nile Province in the final.
Lango Province’s Media Officer, Abel Ogwang, says the 2-all draw obtained away from home still gives his team a better home advantage in the rematch.
He adds that their target was to pick the maximum 3 points from Fort Portal, although he blamed the result to the waterlogged St Paul National Major Seminary Kinyamasika playground as was of disadvantage to his side.
Meanwhile, title holders Ahcoli Province will host West Nile on December 11, 2022, at Pece War Memorial Stadium.
Acholi lost 0-1 to West Nile in the first leg played at Ababet Green Light Stadium in Arua city on November 13, 2022.
