Masindi councillors unhappy over cut tour allowance

Masindi Municipal councillors on Thursday tasked the Town Clerk, Deo Kabugo, over a decision to cut their night allowances for their forthcoming Kaiso Tonya tour in Hoima district.

The tour is scheduled for next week.

During the municipal council sitting at the Municipal Chambers, the councillor for Civic Ward, Haruna Ismail Irumba, tasked the Town Clerk to explain the motive of having their budget tour cut without their knowledge.

Mr Irumba was not happy to be paid allowances for three days instead of four days as earlier budgeted.

In his response, Mr Kabugo told the council that most budgets were cut because money for the second quarter was not remitted due to Covid-19 pandemic.
