Masindi teenager falls off lorry, crashes head

A 12-year- old boy has died after falling off a lorry he was travelling in at Kyatwenge Village in Pakanyi Sub-county, Masindi District today.

The deceased identified as Charles Pimungu was son to Charles Amiya a resident of Kibbirani village in Pakanyi sub-county.

According to the Kyatwenge village chairman, Mr Julius Mabumbo, the deceased was among the people who were traveling in a Tata lorry that was en-route to Kisindi seed farm to carry maize.

The chairman told our reporter that the accident took place at midday after Pimungu fell off a moving lorry that later ran over him, crashing his head and chest and died instantly.

Mr Mabumbo said that he received a phone call from the farm manager whose identity he did not disclose informing him of the accident.

The chairman called Pakanyi police post that in turn called Masindi traffic police that came and took the body to Masindi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
