Police in Masindi are holding a 35-year-old woman, Margaret Adokorach on suspicion of killing her husband, John Onega, 50, both residents of Kitengule Village in Kiruli Parish, Pakanyi Sub-county.

Talking to Kazi-njema News at his office this morning, the Masindi District Police Commander, Vincent Irama, said the incident happened yesterday (Sunday) at around 8:30 pm.
He said preliminary investigations indicate that the incident was a result of domestic violence when Adokorach picked up a piece of firewood that she used to hit her husband on the head twice, killing him instantly.
The police officer said that police have detained Adokorach while Onega’s body was taken to Masindi General Hospital for postmortem.
Mr Irama added that although the motive of the murder currently remains unclear, police investigations are underway to establish the cause.

However, he said according to the neighbours, the two had been embroiled in domestic challenged which could have resulted in the unfortunate incident.
Mr Irama advised the public to always use village councils and elders in their villages to solve their misunderstandings instead of resorting to such heinous acts.
