Onduparaka FC gets top striker

Onduparaka FC has today Tuesday, September 29, 2020 announced on its website that it has acquired Noel Nasasira on a season long loan deal from Kyetume Football Club.

Nasasira, formerly a striker of Ndejje University becomes the 19th acquisition for the Arua City’s caterpillars ahead of the resumption of Uganda premier league.

Douglas Feta, the Onduparaka FC media officer said the acquisition of the player will help bring in an experience from the top flight league for the past two seasons to the Onduparaka side that aims at rebuilding a deep squad.

Feta explained that the giant bodied forward guided Ndejje University FC to the Uganda premier league in 2018 by topping the big league top scorers chart something the caterpillar fans will hope he replicates in the Onduparaka colours.

“Obviously Nasasira is going to be a good player to Onduparaka because he is well placed has a height for goal and understand the system in top flight Uganda football league,” says Feta.

“Our rebuilding structural development is trying to have young players who are fresh and have the passion and we are trying to add those that are experienced and have the zeal to play for the club so that we can have a well balanced team and squad,” he adds.

Nasasira will reunite with his former captain, Ronald Odokonyero, who also joined the caterpillar side on a year’s loan from URA FC.

Meanwhile, a cross section of fans took to the club’s website to express their joy for the new add on player.

Alfred Atanga says he is so happy and deeply thanked the management of Onduparaka FC for the rebuilding process.

Benjamin Ruba Kalla lauds the management adding that he is so sure the club shall go back to its roots and wishes good luck to all the new players.

The Arua based club is the only football club from Greater Northern region playing in the Uganda premier league since gaining promotion in 2016- a position they have maintained to date.
