Police reshuffles impact on Bunyoro

The Inspector General of Police has made fresh deployments, transfers and appointments of gazetted officers from the rank of SSP to ASP.

According to deputy police spokesperson, Ms Polly Namaye, the decision impacts on various officers including heads of departments, Regional Police Commanders, District Police Commanders and others.

“The officers are tasked with ensuring professional and efficient delivery of all police services in their areas of jurisdiction. These transfers are normal and take immediate effect,” she said in a statement issued today Wednesday.

The decision has also impacted on Bunyoro sub-region with ASP Patrick Olecha being transferred from Hoima to Tororo Fire Station as Regional Fire Officer while ASP Benon Rugaba has been transferred from Tororo to Hoima Fire Station as Regional Fire Officer.

In Masindi, ASP John Mafabi has been transferred from Bujenje in Masindi to Busunju Police Station in Mityana as officer in charge of the station while ASP Muzoora Kananura has been transferred from Agule Police Post in Pallisa to Masindi as officer in charge of the station.

The Kibaale District Police Commander, ASP David Otabong has been taken to Kole in the same capacity while Esther Spadeke Tumusiime has come from the course and deployed to Kibaale as District Police Commander.

ASP George Onono has been transferred from Kakumiro to Mutukula as officer in charge of traffic while ASP Richard Balyegonza has been moved from Kiryandongo to Lwemiyaga in Sembabule as officer in charge of the station.

Seven police officers have been transferred to other departments and stations pending investigations by the Police Standards Unit (PSU).
