The Senior Presidential Advisor on Oil and Gas, Eng Dr Fred Kabagambe Kaliisa, has urged the people of Hoima and Uganda’s at large to embrace the population census exercise and ignore sentiments of taxation associated with it by some people.

He said that he had interacted with enumerators and discovered that all the questions were meant for national planning and not specifically targeting to assess people for taxes.

Eng Kaliisa who is also the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom (BKK) Royal Commission Chairperson, said that to make a comprehensive plan, one needs to have a lot of information.

“The questions are many of course but they are usual things being asked about,” he said.

However, he said that enumerators should take it up as a challenge to explain to the people how they can answer some questions that look complex since there appears to have been some gaps to prepare the population.

“When you are not prepared when one asks you about your health, what you do and so on you may feel uncomfortable but when they explain to you the reasons, it becomes easy,” Eng Kaliisa said.
