SBC (Uganda) Ltd – a sister company to SBI International Holdings Ag has today (Wednesday) donated items worth Shs30m to Hoima district and Hoima city health facilities to fight Covid-19.
The items which include face masks, sanitisers, liquid soap and azithromycin drug among others were donated to help health workers avoid contracting Covid-19 in the line of duty.
Receiving the items, the Hoima Resident District Commissioner, Jotham Tumwesigye, said the donation followed a request by the District Covid-19 Task Force to various organisations to help fight the pandemic in Hoima.
He appreciated the company’s diversification strategy of assisting the district like improving social amenities through equipping and constructing water sources, schools and health facilities among others.
Mr Amos Muriisa, the Public Relations Officer SBC (Uganda) Ltd said the donation followed the cordial relationship between the community of Hoima and the company in the ongoing construction works of Hoima International Airport in Kabaale sub-county.
