Uganda Cranes edge Rwanda in Kigali 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Uganda took care of Rwanda 1-0 at the Stade De Kigali this (Thursday) evening, October 7, 2021, to record the first victory during the Group E match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar qualifier after two goalless draws in their opening fixtures.

Uganda netted the winning goal just before halftime pouncing on a loose ball in the area after the Amavubi Stars defence failed to clear from free kick.

The Cranes which is yet to concede in three matches, was forced to drop deep and protect their slender lead, later on as Rwanda went all out for a leveler.

This victory takes Uganda top of group E on five points.

This is Rwanda’s second defeat and they remain bottom of the pile.

The two nations will meet again on match day four at the St Mary’s stadium in Kitende where Uganda will host Rwanda on Sunday.
