Uganda’s U23 national team – the Kobs, today Sunday, July 18, 2021, take on the Democratic Republic of Congo in their opening match of the CECAFA U23 Challenge Cup.
Speaking prior to the opening game of this year’s tournament, Kob’s head coach Morley Byekwaso, noted that his team needs to prepare well for their opening match.
“We pray that God enables us as we prepare for our first game against DR Congo because they are not an easy side and they are strong. We hope that we attain victory,” Mr Byekwaso said as quoted by FUFA media.
Uganda takes on DR Congo in theirs and the tournament’s opening game today Sunday, July 18.
Their final group game will see them face East African neighbours -Tanzania seven days later.
The last time the tournament was hosted in Ethiopia, Uganda beat Rwanda 1-0 in the final to win their 14th title back in 2015.
