Uganda’s famous blogger Mr Ibrahim Tusubira aka Isma Olaxes has been shot dead in the capital Kampala.
Tusubira died instantly after his car registration number UBK213D was sprayed with bullets on Saturday night in Kyanja, a city suburb.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred at about 9:20pm.
He was shot dead as he travelled with his driver Wasswa Mathias when unidentified gunman, armed with an SMG, opened fire on the vehicle.

He added that as a precautionary measure, the area had been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the public and to facilitate the ongoing investigation process.
“We assure the public that everything is being done to bring perpetrators to justice and stop such acts of violence,” he said.
By the time of his death, Tusubira was a bitter critic of politicians in government in his blogs.
The scene of Tusubira’s killing is not far from where labour minister Col. Charles Engola was killed by his bodyguard early in the week.
