Kabaleega International Airport in Hoima District nears completion.

The construction of Kabaleega International Airport in Kabaale sub-county, Hoima District is 95% complete, according to the latest information from the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).

UNOC is an oil company of the government of Uganda which is in-charge of the oil refinery land which hosts the airport, an industrial park and associated infrastructure.

UNOC says the Front – End Engineering Design (FEED) for the oil refinery was completed and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) is near completion.

Based on the company’s publication, the process of acquiring a Joint Venture Partnership to run the industrial park is underway.

A proposal that was submitted by COEGA Development Corporation SA was evaluated and stakeholders are moving to negotiations.

UNOC adds that the land allocation policy is also being finalised to enable potential investors to apply for land in the park.

A paper will be resubmitted to Cabinet for approval on the operationalisation of the Policy, UNOC reveals.
