As the Hoima One Stop Service Centre Uganda is inaugurated, the Chairperson of Kasiingo Cell, the area hosting the Centre in Hoima, Ms Monica Kabatooro, underscores the importance of the officers’ lingual flexibility for the local people of Bunyoro to use the hub maximally.
The centre encompasses a wide range of services and government offices including but not limited to Uganda Revenue Authority, Pensions Desk, Tourism, Uganda Registration Services Bureau, Land Information Desk, Uganda Deeds and Lands Registry, National Identification and Registration Authority and the Immigration Office.
Ms Kabatooro said the majority of services being offered at the centre have a bigger attachment to the local populace that may need a more home-grown language to drive the objective home.
Speaking at the function, the chairperson said that by reducing on their English usage and exhibiting semantic versatility, the office bearers will create a better rapport with the local populace to utilise the facility to the fullest for its intended goal.

Ms Kabatoro urged the people of Bunyoro region to take advantage of the centre to access all sorts of government services that they used to get from Kampala.
She called for recommendable service provision to the people.
The Hoima One Stop Service Centre is established to serve the people of Hoima city and Hoima, Masindi, Kiryandongo, Buliisa, Kikuube, Kagadi, Kakumiro and Kibaale districts.
Ms Grace Mary Mugasa, the State Minister for Public Service, encouraged the local communities of Bunyoro to utilise the centre effectively for all their needs stressing that they do not need to travel to Kampala for the services which are now being availed in their home region at a centralised location.
The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Service, Ms Catherine Bitarakwate, said the Hoima Regional Service Centre is designed to cater to the specific needs of local communities at a reduced cost.
Mr Ulvi Mehdiyev, the Chairperson of State Agency of Public Service & Social Development under the Office of the President of Azerbaijan, shared his optimism that the Hoima One Stop Service Centre Uganda, will revolutionise the relationship between citizens and state institutions.
Commissioning the centre, Mr Wilson Muruli Mukasa, the Minister for Public Service who represented the Prime Minister Robinah Nabanja at the Hoima District Headquarters in Kasingo, said Cabinet proposed to kick start Public Service Centres in 19 traditional regions and the first one was opened up in Bunyoro.
He said the Bunyoro Centre will provide all services required adding that instead of the local communities travelling to Kampala, they will now go to Hoima in order to be served by the staff deployed by various ministries.
The centre which is a collaborative effort of several ministries including the Ministry of Public Service, Internal Affairs; Trade, Industry and Cooperatives and Lands, Housing and Urban Development among others aims to provide quality services to the local communities.
