To fulfil Omukama (King) Dr Solomon Iguru’s campaign of healthy subjects through a variety of approaches including physical exercises, Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom on Friday took the second edition of Enganda football tournament and bicycle race to Buliisa District.

This is the second district after Masindi to hold this year’s competitions supported by MTN Uganda – a telecommunication company.

At the kickoff of the competitions, the Omuhikirwa (Prime Minister) of Bunyoro Kingdom, the Rt Hon Andrew Kirungi Byakutaaga Ateenyi, who was the chief guest at the event, said besides causing physical fitness among the participants for healthy bodies, the initiative also unites the Omukama’s subjects organised on clan basis as well as promoting young talents.

He said the activities are a launch pad for the talented subjects as future sources of employment and income earners once stakeholders advance them to greater heights.

The Omuhikirwa believes that since the football tournament is an inter-county arrangement, this will create a good relationship among communities in their respective counties.

Mr Byakutaaga pledged continued partnership with MTN Uganda for the cause and many more that aim to drive Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom forward.

Mr Aggrey Byaruhanga, the Western and South Western Regional MTN Marketing Coordinator, vouchsafed that the telecommunication company will continue relating with the kingdom since it is a uniting force to the people of Bunyoro regardless of their tribes, religions, clans, backgrounds and political subscriptions.

He called for sustained relationship reciprocation between the two entities in activities geared towards building oneness for all.
