Police in Buliisa District are investigating the murder by mob of a woman in her 30s for alleged theft.
The last Wednesday night incident happened at Kisinja village, Walukuba landing site in Butyaba sub-county.
It is not yet clear what she was suspected to have stolen.
The Kisinja Village Chairman, Mr Richard Onen, has told Pascal Onega of Kazi-njema’s partner radio – Biiso FM that he rushed to the scene of crime after a tipoff by some women who sighted the mob action from a distance as they returned from fetching water.
He, unfortunately, found the woman in comma burning in flames of fire set using fishing nets.
The woman breathed her last shortly later as the police arrived for her rescue.
The Bulisa District Police Commander, ASP John Mwaule, says police are serious into investigations to have all suspects in this mob justice that culminated in the murder apprehended.
