
Bunyoro – Kitara Kingdom has today donated medical equipment to the Kagadi District COVID-19 Taskforce.

The items include two infrared thermometers, 400 face masks, 200 litres of sanitisers and 500 pairs of gloves.
The items handed out by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Stephen Twesige, are to be used in the fight against Covid-19 that has ravaged the entire globe.
Addressing members of the taskforce, Mr Twesige urged the kingdom subjects to utilise the current lockdown by engaging massively in agriculture for food security at household level.
He also said that this would propel both micro and macro-economic growth and development through improved household income and enhanced Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Per Capita Income.
Speaking during the district taskforce meeting earlier in the day, the kingdom Health and Education Special Assistant in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Florence Asiimwe Akiiki, told the members that the cultural institution procured the medical items worth Shs60m for distribution among all eight districts that form Bunyoro – Kitara Kingdom.
These include Kiryandongo, Masindi, Buliisa and Hoima.
Others are Kikuube, Kagadi, Kibaale and Kakumiro.
Meanwhile, the Buyaga East Member of Parliament (MP) in Kagadi District, Mr Eric Musana, has also handed over the Shs20m that parliament gave the MPs to the Kagadi District Covid-19 Taskforce.

Mr Musana joins his counterpart, the Kagadi district woman MP, Ms Jennifer Kyomuhendo Mbabazi, who last week adhered to President Yoweri Museveni’s directive to hand over the money for fighting against coronavirus.
