Covid-19: Masindi police officers test negative

Quarantined police officers at Masindi police barracks test negative for coronavirus.

The 303 police officers and their immediate family members who were quarantined after their colleague tested positive for coronavirus at Masindi police barracks have been declared negative.

The Masindi District Health Officer, Mr Patrick Baguma, said on Monday that none of the quarantined was reactive after being tested two times.

“The police officers and their families are now free to interact with members of the community after they were tested twice and results showed that they were all negative for Covid-19,” Mr Baguma said.

A total of 428 people have been discharged from geographical and institutional quarantines that were gazetted at Kabalega senior secondary school, Masindi General Hospital, Kabalega, Masindi Public school and Masindi army barracks.

Meanwhile, the detective who was rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus is responding to treatment, according to the Hoima District Health Officer, Dr Joseph Ruyonga.
