The Hoima District LC 5 Chairman, Mr Kadiri Kirungi, will tomorrow Friday, 14 this month, appear before the Land Protection Police Unit at the Criminal Investigations Directorate Headquarters in Kibuli, Kampala.

In the summon dated 5 this month, the commandant Land Protection Police Unit requires Mr Kirungi to report at the CID headquarters to assist police that is investigating cases of conspiracy to commit felony, criminal trespass; malicious damage and abuse of office vide CID HQTRS LPPU GEF 129/2020.
A felony is a serious crime such as murder or rape, according to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary.
The chairman is particularly required to report to the Commandant Land Protection Police Unit at 11:00 am as per Section 27 A (1) and (2) of the Police Act (as amended) that empowers police to summon the attendance of any person whom they have reasons to believe has valuable or relevant information among others to assist the police.
The summon; a copy of which Kazi-njema News has seen is copied to the Director CID, Regional Police Commander (RPC) Hoima and Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Hoima.
Contacted, Mr Kirungi suspects that the summon stems from his “intervention in the land saga at Lenju village in Kigorobya County”, Hoima District adding that he “stopped imminent evictions of people from their land”.
