Authorities in Kagadi have acquired three Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras to monitor and curb crime in addition to establishing causes of accidents in the town.

The District Police Commander (DPC), Mr Stephen Kamar, said that the cameras will be installed at major dark spots of Kagadi town which have for long been known as strong points for criminals terrorising people.

The police officer disclosed that the cameras will be installed along Kagadi-Kibaale; Kagadi-Kyenjojo and Kagadi-Hoima Roads where criminals target unsuspecting people.

Mr Kamar told Kazi-njema News at his office today (Thursday) in Kagadi town that the cameras will be installed before this year’s Christmas festivities.

“The CCTV cameras will help police in identifying suspects and establishing causes of accidents in Kagadi town”, he told our reporter today.

The DPC cautioned residents against vandalising the cameras warning of stern punishment against the culprits.

However, this website could not establish how much the cameras cost.
