
Finance, Planning and Economic Development Minister, Mr Matia Kasaija, says Kibaale needs over Shs10.3b to work on roads and bridges in the district in the 2020/21 fiscal year.

Speaking to the press shortly after the District Works Committee meeting at the district headquarters on Friday, Mr Kasaija said that government has already secured over Shs9.5b from the Agricultural Fund, over Shs434m from Uganda Road Fund and also over Shs400m from the Development Grant.
The minister who is also the Buyanja County Member of Parliament in Kibaale District said he was following up the remaining Shs400m of the Shs800m from the Development Grant to ensure that work begins uninterruptedly.
“The district has also received culverts from the Ministry of Works for fixing dilapidated bridges to enable easy transport of agricultural products to markets and health centres for a financially and medically healthy population”, he said.
The District Works Committee chairperson cum Kibaale district woman Member of Parliament, Ms Noeline Kisembo Basemera, told journalists that close to 20 roads and five streams in the district have been earmarked to be worked on in the 2020/21 financial year.
