Hoima’s Kitara FC has been fined Shs1m after the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Disciplinary Panel found the club’s fans guilty of hooliganism.
The panel said the fans misbehaved during the FUFA Big League match played between Kitara FC and Masindi based Dove FC at Katusabe playground in Masindi on February 23, 2020.
Kitara FC fans reportedly dismantled a perimeter fence near the technical area protesting against the centre referee’s mode of officiating the match.
According to the disciplinary panel, the unruly fans hurled plastic bottles and other objects towards the match officials and vandalised the fence.
Kitara has been ordered to pay the fine before Sunday, March 8, 2020 or else be slapped sanctions.
