A 47-year-old man is admitted to a health facility after being hacked for refusing to buy alcohol for his village mates in Kibaale District.

Dan Byamukama, a resident of Kihoro Village in Karama Sub-county was hacked in the wee hours of Friday evening when he refused to buy alcohol for a one Mugume, Mwekambe and Turyasiima, residents of the same area.

Speaking on his sick bed at EMESCO Health Centre 4, Byamukama said the trio attacked him at around 8pm as he returned home.

“As I was going back home, the three intercepted and ordered me to buy them alcohol but when I refused, they started hacking me in the hand using a sharp machete.”

The Kibaale District Police Commander, Mr David Otabong told our reporter that police have arrested the suspects ranging between 18-20 years of age.

The police officer said the trio will be arraigned before court and charged with attempted murder once investigations into the matter are complete.
