A second person has tested positive for COVID-19 in Masindi District, according to Dr Rogers Musinguzi, the Head of COVID-19 Case Management team in the district.

Dr Musinguzi told this website today (Friday) that the 30-year-old patient is a female businesswoman and resident of Kabarwana Cell, Central Division in Masindi Municipality.
The acting Masindi District Health Officer (DHO) Mr Patrick Baguma, said that the patient had gone to Nsambya Hospital seeking treatment but when she was tested, results showed that she was positive for corona virus.
By publication of this story, the patient was being transferred to Hoima Regional Referral hospital COVID-19 Treatment Unit.
This second case follows the first one in which a police detective at Masindi police station also tested positive for Corona virus on May 1, 2020 during the rapid assessment survey conducted by the health ministry across the country.

The police officer who was treated at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital Covid-19 Treatment Unit has since recovered and tested negative to the lethal virus in subsequent tests as was revealed by Dr Lawrence Tumusiime, the in-charge of the unit.
