The people of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom have been challenged to think big and demand for what belongs to them from the government instead of focusing on trivial issues.
This is according to Mr Ismail Kasule, the Bunyoro Regional Coordinator for Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party, while speaking to Kazi-njema News’ Gad Asaba at ‘Empango Run’ activity today (Thursday), June 9, 2022, ahead of the 28th coronation of Omukama Dr Solomon Gafaabusa Iguru I in Hoima city.
Though Mr Kasule believes that the proceeds from Empango Run will help to improve health services in Kikuube district like it has done in other districts before, it is a drop in an ocean when one critically looks at the number of unaddressed salient issues in the region.
According to him, it is high time the leaders at different levels and categories worked with the subjects to take advantage of the growing unity at Empango commemorations to discuss and demand for their rights on serious matters.
He said impending issues include increasing cases of land grabbing and missing out on opportunities in the oil and gas industry and other natural resources.
Mr Kasule emphasises the need to assertively demand for what belongs to them from any individual, organisation or government.
He condemned disunity on political grounds that degrades efforts and people’s ability to differentiate what they need together as a region and what they need to do for the government.
