West Nile Province made an emphatic start to their FUFA Drum quarterfinal task after thumping Kampala Province 4-0 in the first leg game played today Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the Green Light stadium in Arua.
Mohammad Shaban scored twice, Cromwell Rwothomio and Wahab added one apiece to give West Nile the upper hand in the contest for a semifinal slot.
Despite having some big-name players on their squad, Kampala were hapless as West Nile hit them for dead in the game watched by thousands of home fans.
West Nile, who lost the 2018 final to Buganda, look much better this time round and are widely-tipped among the favourites.
They thumped Karamoja Province 5-1 to qualify for the quarterfinals.
