Buhimba outsmarts NTODA, qualifies for FUFA Big League

Buhimba United Saints FC has qualified for the FUFA Big League after defeating NTODA FC 1-0 in the second league of the last playoffs at Kigaaya COU primary school in Kikuube District.

The first league that was played at Kyamate Stadium in Ntungamo district ended in a goalless draw.

The goal that led Buhimba United Saints to qualify on Friday, June 28, 2024, was scored by Sabir Jacinta in the late minutes of the second half.

After the game, Paul Nkata, the Head Coach Buhimba United Saints, said that it was not an easy journey but appreciated the players, staff and fans for the support both on the pitch and outside the pitch for the entire season.

Ntoda qualified for playoffs after being crowned champions of Northern Region League while Kitara was champions of Kitara Region League.

Engineer Julius Ahuura, the Buhimba United Saints President, said that following the promotion, the club will offload some players, enter a transfer market and buy quality players who will help the club in the Big League, hastening to add that the majority will stay in the club.

Susan Kabasindi, the Kikuube District Female Councillor for Buhimba Town Council, urged all stakeholders in the Bunyoro to continue supporting sports so that the region can also be home of talents.
